We tests different aspects of the body to give a clear and measurable picture of your health.

With our non invasive testing methods we gain a clear understanding of where your health is. From there we understand where it needs to go and what to do to get you there.

To complete a Wellness Assessment, we utilise several diagnostic tools. These include Food Detective, Urine Analysis, & Biological Impedance Analysis. Our Brisbane Wellness Assessment usually takes 1 hour to complete. A follow up appointment required to explain the results and determine appropriate action.

Brisbane Wellness Assessment

Food Detective – A simple blood test for specific food intolerances.

We perform this test if someone is complaining of immune problems, digestive problems, headaches and/or vague symptoms like “foggy thinking”, bloating, and general feelings of unwellness.

The Food Detective test can assess your reaction to over 48 common food types. We class your reaction to each food type as being mild or strong. By determining which foods are causing negative immune reactions in your body, one then goes on an elimination diet to clear the body.

You Are What You Eat – The truth about food intolerance

While we have all heard the saying “You are what you eat”. Gone are the days of limited knowledge where simply eating “healthily” means you will be healthy.

Obviously, one person’s definition of healthy food can be vastly different to another person’s. While you may be “following the rules” of healthy eating, you may be doing yourself harm and compromising your health without even realizing.

Sufferers of food intolerance frequently complain of lethargy or ‘fogginess’ and a general feeling of unwellness.

However, some people may experience acute reactions such as recurrent hives and swellings, headache, sinus trouble, mouth ulcers, nausea, stomach pain and bowel irritation. Common symptoms of food intolerance are: anxiety, arthritis, bloating, bronchitis, chronic fatigue, constipation, diarrhea, headaches, insomnia, skin conditions and weight management issues.

Children can become irritable and restless, and some behavioural problems can be aggravated. Even breastfed babies can have intolerances due to natural chemicals in the mother’s diet. Babies tend to be more vulnerable to chemicals in food because their metabolism and gastrointestinal system are immature.

Food intolerance can be hard to diagnose because many of the symptoms can be due to other causes. However, at Paddington Clinic we have an advanced diagnostic test which analysis your blood and highlights your individual reactivity to over 48 food types.

Once your food intolerances are determined, an elimination diet is required and re-testing then allows us to review your progress.

Trouble arises if you end up avoiding foods your body needs, and unsupervised diets are particularly dangerous in children. We always recommend you undergo elimination diets under the supervision of your qualified Practitioner.

Food intolerances need not be permanent, and we can gladly help you on the road to better health and vitality.

Brisbane Wellness Assessment - Urine Analysis

Why is urinary pH important?

Subtle changes to the pH of the body can have substantial impacts on a range of health conditions. These include stress, bone density, pain, muscle mass and hormonal balance.

Our Brisbane Wellness Assessment clinic has a number of products which are used to reduce urinary pH. The best Urine Analysis product will be used for your individual situation.

Urinary pH is a good measure of the ‘acid-load’ within the body. Many Practitioners use urinary pH to tailor their treatment plans. Urinary pH ranges from 4.5 to 8.0 in extreme cases, and from 5.5 to 6.5 in the average patient.

Potassium citrate at a dose of 4 g daily has been shown to reduce acidity.
